Endopeptidase (alkaline protease) of the serine protease family which is used in the in situ hybridization process to permeabilize cell membranes and remove protein that surrounds the target DNA or RNA sequences of interest. The reagent is intended for enzymatic digestion of sections of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue or whole cell preparations. With 0.1 units/ml alkaline protease enzyme activity, ISH Protease 2 is Ventanas intermediate-strength enzymatic pretreatment available for ISH. This reagent is provided pre-diluted and ready-to-use for convenient operation on BenchMark Series automated slide stainers.
